Whisky business gets new meaning Oct. 23 and 24, when The Macallan Manor takes over the Arts Club of Washington. The new, multisensorial event series from the single-malt Scotch whisky brand is opening its doors (temporarily) in nine cities, including DC, this fall, and gives enthusiasts a chance to step inside the world of the acclaimed libation. “We are reaching a new group of consumers around the U.S. with the goal to inspire and transform them into fans of The Macallan, while giving them a never-seen-before, sensorial, educational and interactive experience,” says Samantha Leotta, brand director of The Macallan in the Americas. Adam Aleksander Presents has created the program, which was inspired, he says, by a journey he took in 2017 and uses “adventure theory.” Here’s how it works: Guests travel through four worlds, each built around one of The Macallan’s Scotch whisky expressions, teaming set design with stories and experiments to tap into each of the five senses. There may be tastings in an oak forest with flavorful flowers from the Amazonian rainforest and cuisine like edible clouds to pair with each sip. Want in? You must apply for an invitation by visiting the website and you may be selected to attend. Well-manored, indeed.
