1 Tasty Affair!

Warm up from the inside out with Winter Restaurant Week beginning Jan. 14.
The tiradito de atĂșn at Pisco y Nazca

Looking for a bite to satisfy your soul (and stomach) during the chilly season? Winter Restaurant Week, which runs Jan. 14 to 20, has just what you need. Presented by Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, the biannual graze craze dishes out multicourse menus at 250 eateries in the region. (Brunch and lunch cost $22, while dinner is priced at $35.) The event allows local gourmands to head back to longtime favorites or check out new additions to the culinary scene. Among the participating restaurants is Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar, also DC magazine’s January/February Food & Drink Review. The three-course dinner menu, for example, serves up a selection that includes tiradito de atĂșn (with tuna, roasted jalapeno sauce, avocado and sesame seeds), chupe de camarones (a scrumptious Peruvian shrimp chowder topped by a poached egg) and crema volteada (a Peruvian twist on creme caramel with grilled pineapple and quinoa tuile) for dessert. Other hot spots to try include Kingbird at The Watergate Hotel, Dyllan’s Raw Bar Grill, Fig & Olive, Iron Gate and more. Comfort food, most certainly.
