Thirsty? DC Cocktail Week fills your glass Nov. 12 to 18 when 60-plus local restaurants and bars throughout the District, Maryland and Virginia make a splash with their libations and paired nibbles. The affair gives locals (and visitors) the chance to savor the selections at new restaurants (think Wild Days at Eaton Workshop) and award winners, including Centrolina (Amy Brandwein was named chef of the year at the 2018 RAMMYS). Here, a sip from a few of our favorites:
The St. Regis’ signature dining establishment gets into the spirit of the season with its pumpkin spice Manhattan complete with a flaming cinnamon stick and orange zest, all teamed with foie gras cooked in stollen spice and caramelized fuji apples.
2. City Winery
Ivy City’s urban winery keeps true to its name with its Civic Sunset libation, topped with the label’s meritage float and an orange wheel. To pair? An amuse-bouche of a bleu cheese mousse in phyllo.
3. Colada Shop
Cuban flair comes courtesy of this zesty spot and its Carajillo. It’s made with Havana-blend espresso, Licor 43, dark rum and syrup; the crunchy-on-the-outside sweet potato and queso fresco croquetas add to the sensations.
4. The Source by Wolfgang Puck
We adore the Show Me Love, thanks to its St-Germain, lychee puree and crafted, distilled Wheatley Vodka, and we’re just as addicted to the halibut croquette okonomiyaki with chili aioli and pickled ginger.
The Za’atar Air Marg is a breath of fresh—well, you get the point. It’s complemented by the hommus bil zhoug, a puree of chickpeas with tahini and lemon, spicy jalapeno zhoug (a hot sauce), more chickpeas (crispity this time) and micro cilantro.
