THE PARTY The S&R Foundation recognized outstanding individuals in the arts at its annual Washington Awards Gala. Guests gathered at the historic Evermay estate in Georgetown for a picturesque awards ceremony in the garden followed by a live auction from Bonham Auction House and seated dinner by Occasions Caterers. Total Wine & More kept the bar stocked – a must for any true awards show.
THE PEOPLE The Washington Award recipients rightfully stole the show. Composer Lembit Beecher, violinist Luosha Fang, mixed media artist Jorge Manes Rubio and saxophone player Jonathan Wintringham were honored for their innovations and contributions to the arts community. Septime Webre, Jack Evans, Tammie Collins, and Ami and Lou Aronson were other guests of note.
BEST IN SHOW Fresh and fruity! Up Top Acres provided fresh, local produce to keep guests fueled while MISFIT Juicery supplied juices for creative cocktails. The extra boost helped energize the guests and award winners, all of whom performed during the event. Even S&R’s COO, Kate Goodall, gave a special thank you performance to the song ‘I will survive’!
