The Party
The arrival of Daniel Boulud’s French-American bistro, DBGB Kitchen & Bar, at CityCenterDC was cause for celebration! Red carpet-ready foodies and fashionistas mixed and mingled at the must-attend party, which featured samples of Boulud’s scrumptious food, flowing Champagne and even a ceremonial lighting of the chef’s famous baked Alaska.

The People
Boulud drew big names to his party, including Philippe Cousteau and his new bride, E! host Ashlan Cousteau; chef and TV personality Carla Hall; NBC4’s Eun Yang; and BET exec Natasha Bryson (and recent DC magazine Woman of Style!). With two floors to explore, guests checked out the new space (including handpainted plates from famous chefs hanging on the walls), snapped some patriotic pictures in the photo booth and got in line for the upstairs raw bar (complete with a Washington Monument ice sculpture).

Best in Show
The great French chef himself was, of course, the star attraction of the evening, as he greeted his guests, many of them already fans from his New York restaurant empire. “It’s not about having the same food as New York,” he recently told DC in an exclusive interview. “It’s about having the same spirit.” Welcome to Washington, Monsieur Boulud. -
