The Party Chad Griffin, the Human Rights Campaign’s new president, celebrated the 16th annual National Dinner in his new post with 3,000 members and supporters of the LGBT community. The dinner, one of the organization’s largest fundraisers, was held at the Washington Convention Center and benefited the movement’s many causes, such as supporting marriage equality in Washington, Maryland and Maine—the first states to win a ballot measure on the topic—and holding off Minnesota’s ban.The People Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson worked the white carpet with fiancĂ© Justin Nikita. Ally for Equality Award recipient Sally Field delivered a speech about her youngest son, Sam Greisman, who is openly gay—and the footage went viral overnight. Other VIP guests included Newark, N. J., Mayor and HRC advocate Cory Booker, who keynoted the evening, and NAACP President and CEO Ben Jealous, who took home The National Equality Award. Best In Show A Cirque du Soleil performance mesmerized guests pre-auction, which starred high-dollar items donated by supporters such as Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.Photography by Tony Brown
