THE PARTY Throwback Thursday! It was a night of raucous reminiscing as DC magazine’s friends, family and staff feted 10 fabulous years with a lavish party at Union Market’s Dock5, featuring fun cocktails from Oak by Absolut, Absolut Elyx and Vida Tequila, catering from longtime partner Ridgewells and a hair-and-makeup lounge by Progressions Salon. THE PEOPLE More than 600 friends of the magazine turned out to toast the milestone, including many who have appeared in the pages of DC, like Food Network stars Emilia Cirker and Rue Rusike; Michelle Obama’s makeup artist, Carl Ray; and CityCenterDC’s senior manager Tim Lowery. BEST IN SHOW While sipping on Greenhill sparkling wines and grooving to the tunes of DJ Heather Femia, artist Maggie O’Neill painted a pop-art portrait of the U.S. Capitol. DC’s publisher, Peter Abrahams (who was also celebrating a decade at the helm of the magazine), made a special toast—before encouraging everyone to head to Heist for the official afterparty. We can’t wait to see what the next 10 bring! –Photos by Stephen De Leon and John Robinson
