Champagne Pups

| March 26, 2015 | Parties

The Washington Humane Society hosted its annual pet-friendly fundraiser, Sugar & Champagne, in honor of local crusaders against animal cruelty.

Washington Humane Society supporters got their dogs all dolled up for an elegant affair that featured decadent desserts, colorful cocktails and plenty of fun for Fido and his friends at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

Hosted by chef Todd Gray and Ellen Kassoff Gray of Equinox Restaurant, the annual affair featured samples from more than 70 chefs and mixologists, including Hello Cupcake, The Dairy Godmother and Co Co Sala. More than 750 animal lovers nibbled on the sweet treats while their four-legged guests made new friends. After a high- end auction that featured pet-friendly prizes, the evening’s fundraising total rang in at nearly $90,000.

It was a puppy-palooza! Guests posed with their pooches in the SocialLight photo booth, while other dogs sampled treats that several restaurants specially prepared. Spotted, fluffy, shaggy and smooth—with many sporting bow ties and dresses—the pups all made it a night to remember.
