The People
The Prevent Cancer Foundation threw its 19th annual spring gala celebration at the decked-out National Building Museum, raising $1.3 million for cancer prevention and early detection. Timed to International Women’s Day, the event celebrated the she-survivors among us.

The Party
As it is the Year of Italian Culture, Italian Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero and wife Laura Denise Bisogniero acted as honorary patrons. Rear Admiral Susan Blumenthal, and FOX News reporter Jennifer Griffin attended the event alongside Retired Rep. Ellen Tauscher who accepted the Cancer Champion award from Sen. Diane Feinstein and shared her powerful story of her battle with esophageal cancer.

Best in Show
Dreamy destinations were the stars of the gala’s silent auction, which raised more than $85,000. The getaways included a weeklong stay at Tuscany’s Ripertoli estate and a sunny South Beach trip. Photography by Tony Powell
