THE PARTY Washingtonians mixed and mingled in true Japanese-fashion at Events DC’s inaugural Cherry Blast celebration at Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square. Guests were invited to join in the salute to the Japanese pop cultural craze through all things related to anime, cosplay and gaming. Cherry Blasters discovered the tasty side of Japanese culture though mouth-watering Tokyo street food, sake tastings and sushi workshops.
THE PEOPLE What a crowd! Carnegie Library was hopping all night long with art-enthusiasts and foodies alike. Fashion designer, Earle Bannister, made his rounds through the crowd of fashionistas after the fashion show.
BEST IN SHOW As a toast to the Japanese anime scene, revelers were treated to a live fashion show on the steps of Carnegie Library of the latest Japanese fashion trends - straight from the runway. While some guests rocked their own runway in handmade creative cosplay attire for a chance to win prizes, others took to the wild side with electric drifting competitions.
