Crafty & Classy

THE PARTY Beer enthusiasts of DC gathered at the National Building Museum for the 9th annual SAVOR: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience. The event, presented by the Brewers Association, provided guests with the opportunity to discover craft beers produced by 76 small and independent breweries. The experience also allowed an occasion to emphasize the important relationship between craft beer and food through a pairing menu. The menu, designed by Executive Chef Adam Dulye and Chef Consultant Kyle Mendenhall both of the Brewers Association, included a pairing of “Diamonds, Fur Coat, Champagne”, a Berliner Weissibier, with a savory pork tenderloin, mashed rutabaga and apple caramelized onion.

THE PEOPLE Draft Stars! Notable guests in attendance included President of the Brewers Association, Bob Pease; Founder and President of Dogfish Head Brewery, Sam Calagione; Co-founder and chairman of Boston Beer Company, Jim Koch; and Rob Tod, founder of Deschutes Brewery.

BEST IN SHOW And there’s more! SAVOR also offered a variety of purveyor stations including an artisan cheese table presented by the American Cheese Society, a charcuterie station presented by Red Apron Butcher and an oyster bar by Choptank Oyster Company.
