THE PARTY About 2,000 stage supporters came out for a glittering evening that honored the best of DC’s theater community. The prestigious awards show, which recognizes excellence in 26 categories from acting to choreography to costume design, was hosted at the Warner Theatre, followed by an impressive afterparty at the JW Marriott. THE PEOPLE Oscar, Tony and Emmy award-winning actress Ellen Burstyn took home the Helen Hayes Tribute award on behalf of the Actors’ Equity Association, while local winners included Metro Stage’s Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris and actor David M. Lutken, who was awarded for his outstanding performance in Theater J’s Woody Sez: The Life & Music of Woody Guthrie. BEST IN SHOW Drama-loving attendees danced the night away at the post-party, which included ensemble performances from artists like Roz White, Glenn Howard and Tracey Stephens.
