The Party
The Washington Ballet’s annual gala, held this year at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, delivered fun and philanthropy, benefiting TWB@THEARC, Excel!, and DanceDC—programs committed to providing access to dance education and scholarships. Dressed-to-impress gala guests enjoyed upscale cocktails, canapes and dinner, courtesy of Susan Gage Caterers.
The People
Executive Vice President of Booz Allen Hamilton and Washington Ballet board member Reginald Van Lee blended business and ballet for the night, serving as the evening’s co-hosts.
Best In Show
What’s a party without a little music and dancing? The Jazz Ball did not fall short on either front, treating attendees to performances by acclaimed dancers from the Washington Ballet Company and its affiliates, as well as music by the award-winning Howard University Jazz Ensemble. Wynton Marsalis also sent a special video message for gala-goers. After dinner, guests kicked off their heels, loosened their ties and joined seasoned ballerinas on the dance floor with tunes by DJ FZGrüü and DJ Blurry Vision. –Photos by Tony Brown
