Dark Art

| October 28, 2011 | Parties

THE PARTY Nearly 600 art enthusiasts and collectors flocked to the first complete installation of Warhol’s Shadows, a 102-piece work presented in continuous, movie-reel fashion. THE PEOPLE The cadre of heavy hitters was replete with art stars like Don and Mera Rubell, as well as local artists such as Maggie Michael and Dan Steinhilber. BEST IN SHOW A few guests arrived donning Warhol’s signature coif and glasses, prompting Hirshhorn Museum staff to grab their polaroids and snap keepsake photos of partygoers with the pop art icon’s lookalikes.
