A Fab Lab

| January 14, 2015 | Parties National

The Party
Talk about dancing with the stars! Multiple mirror-ball winner Karina Smirnoff of Dancing With the Stars traveled to DC for the 30th annual fundraiser for The Lab School—an independent school that teaches children with learning differences—and helped the innovative organization raise nearly $700,000 for educational initiatives.

The People
Honoree Smirnoff stole the show as she boogied with Lab School students on the dance floor, while fellow honorees Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Ford, Vin Roberti of Roberti+White LLC and Charm Georgetown owner Jaclyn Mason also inspired the crowd with their acceptance speeches. The evening’s emcee, MSNBC contributor Michelle Bernard, mixed and mingled among the high-profile guests including Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Best In Show
Guests sampled silver-queen corn souffle timbale and pomegranate martinis from Occasions Caterers while bidding on high-dollar items, including a very special trip to the 2015 Cannes Film Festival featuring some face time with Lab School supporter Sharon Stone, during the live auction portion of the evening. –Photos by Geoff Chessman/ImageLink
