Fashion DNA

| July 11, 2014 | Parties

The Party
The opening of Emporium DNA—a high-fashion shop-within-a-shop concept from IK Retail Group’s Iraklis and Yasmine Karabassis—brought out a bevy of the city’s most fashion-savvy guests for an evening of browsing the boutique’s in-demand brands.

The People
The chic shoppers had the opportunity to meet and greet with designers who are represented at Emporium—including Galina Sobolev and Sandee Zahn—and meet with specialists from sought-after labels like Hudson Jeans and Rebecca Minkoff. “There’s been such an evolution in this market,” Yasmine Karabassis, who has been a fashion fixture in the District for nearly two decades, told DC. “We’ve curated a store with a unique mix of talent and design based on our experience.”

Best In Show
It was all about the accessories! Guests were treated to customization by an on-site calligrapher for their Rebecca Minkoff handbags, while well-heeled partygoers drooled over the store’s specialty-shoe gallery, featuring brands like B by Brian Atwood, See by Chloe and Marc by Marc Jacobs. –Photos by Daniel Swartz
