Fashion on M Street

| December 17, 2014 | Parties

The Party
Georgetown’s Fashion, Art and Design was an all-day affair this year with an exclusive invite-only brunch, fashion documentary screening, loads of street style and, of course, fabulous deals at Georgetown’s haute boutiques.

The People
Georgetown’s chic set, including ArtJamz Creative Director Anchyi Wei and jewelry designer Sophie Blake, started the day with mimosas and crepes from Cafe Bonaparte at City Tavern Club on M Street before heading out for a day of shopping at FAD-sponsored stores like Britt Ryan, Karen Millen and M29. Artist Kelly Towles provided the perfect shopping break as he painted an outdoor mural inspired by Georgetown’s C&O Canal, while photographer Britt Elyse Nelson hosted a street-style photo shoot.

Best In Show
The day’s events concluded with a screening of Advanced Style, a critically acclaimed documentary showcasing seven New Yorkers—who happen to be 65 and older—and their eclectic styles, followed by a panel with the film’s director, Lina Plioplyte, and star, Debra Rapoport, moderated by DC magazine’s own editor-in-chief, Michael McCarthy.
