Flashbulb Frenzy

The Party
The recently released The Art of Discovery ($45, Rizzoli), a coffee-table tome featuring intimate portraits of cinema stars from photographer Jeff Vespa, made its debut in the District at a fabulous fete at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel. Guests got glimpses of Seth Rogen, Jared Leto, Maggie Gyllenhaal and more as they perused the pages of the book in the hotel lobby-turned-art exhibit.

The People
Partygoers posed with their favorite celebrity photos hanging on the wall while they sipped craft punches by master mixologist Derek Brown, and cigarette girl-style servers passed Astro Doughnuts in exotic flavors like pumpkin spice and passion fruit.

Best In Show
The starry-eyed evening was also a party with a purpose. The Art of Discovery features heartfelt stories of celebs who have experienced life-changing moments through charity work. With that mission in mind, Vespa—a Baltimore native—donated a portion of the book sales to The Creative Coalition, the nonpartisan charity of the arts and entertainment community. –Photos by Daniel Swartz
