The Party M.C. Dean, Inc. CEO Bill Dean opened his historic Dodge Mansion to host a reception for the third annual Audi Best Buddies Challenge, where participants ran, walked and cycled for charity, raising $2.5 million for Best Buddies International’s programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The People Best Buddies founder and co-chairman Anthony Shriver brought many members of his famous family, including sister Maria. Actress and Best Buddies International board member Lauren Potter was there, along with Audi of America President and event co-chair Scott Keogh Sr. On the sports side, Washington Capitals General Manager George McPhee attended, along with an Olympic-star lineup including sprinter Carl Lewis, cyclist George Hincapie and swimmer Gary Hall.Best in Show Potter, who has Down syndrome and was tapped this year to serve on the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities, was the featured speaker. She shared the story of living her dream by landing the role as cheerleader Becky Jackson on the hit TV series Glee. Photography by Paul Morigi
