| June 28, 2011 | Parties

The Party: Over 800 guests attended the Washington National Opera’s spring ball, which transformed the Chinese Embassy into a two-floor representation of both modern and ancient China. The Players: Guests, including event chair Susan Lerhman, philanthropist Adrienne Arsht and US Chief of Protocol Capricia Marshal, marveled as chefs prepared dinner from hundreds of Peking ducks hanging from the gallery walls. Best in Show: The WNO paid homage to the famous tenor and retiring director Placido Domingo with a laser light show and musical tribute for his 15 years of service.
