Going to the Dogs

| May 1, 2012 | Parties

THE PARTY More than 1,700 District dog (and cat) lovers crowded the National Building Museum with their four-legged friends in tow to participate in the annual fashion show, featuring the latest in human and canine styles. Guests were treated to beats spun by Syhan Duru, Georgetown Cupcakes and Moet Imperial Champagne, all while raising $700,000 for the Washington Humane Society. THE PEOPLE Pamela Sorensen emceed the celebrity-studded evening, welcoming the likes of Marie Osmond, E! News correspondent Ashlan Gorse, CNN’s Philippe Cousteau and Washington Redskins’ Tim Hightower. Event chairs Michelle Benaim, Tommy McFly, Dr. Ashley Hughes and Sara Trab Nielsen were also on hand to walk the runway, along with ABC 7’s Steve Chenevy and Scott Thuman. BEST IN SHOW Honorary chairwoman and animal advocate Osmond was so inspired by the Washington Humane Society’s efforts that she took home a special party favor, an adopted puppy named George she met at the event.
