THE PARTY The Kentucky Bourbon Trail® tour made its way to our Nation’s Capital! At Bourbon in Adams Morgan, The Whiskey Library hosted a whiskey tasting to highlight three distilleries: Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Experience, and Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse. Attendees started with a special cocktail called the Sellbach—bourbon, orange liquor, bitters and champagne…yum! After warming up their palates with the cocktail, the taste test began with Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon, then moved on to Bulleit’s new Barrel Proof Bourbon and topped it off with Jim Bean’s Signature Craft Bourbon. Along with these 1/2 oz pours, guests also enjoyed burnt ends and watermelon salad, fried green tomatoes, pork sliders and a variety of other small plates.
THE PEOPLE Notable guests included Tim Moll and Brian Thompson, both founders of The Whiskey Library.
BEST IN SHOW Proofed in DC: Barrel Strength Bourbon from Billeit. Shoutout to The Whiskey Library for not only providing guests with history and education on the distilleries where the drinks all began, but for giving DC a first hand taste of this new Whiskey before anyone else did. Consider it luck because this latest and greatest drink is not available anywhere outside of Kentucky!
