The Party
The District’s normally dressed-down chefs, mixologists and service staff donned their best black-tie duds for an elegant affair that feted all things food at the Washington Convention Center. The highly anticipated event featured a sophisticated cocktail hour and red carpet, a boisterous awards ceremony and an over-the-top seated dinner featuring fare from around the world.
The People
The Rammys always attracts a who’s who of the restaurant scene’s most sought-after toques, and this year did not disappoint. Winners, including Haidar Karoum (Chef of the Year), Fabio Trabocchi (Best Formal Dining Restaurant, Fiola) and Trevor Frye (Cocktail Program of the Year, Jack Rose Dining Saloon), all took the stage to accept awards. Gourmands in the audience were also gripped with World Cup fever during the ceremony, cheering and jeering as word came in of the USA vs. Portugal game!
Best In Show
After the awards, guests were ushered upstairs to a truly impressive party, featuring international food stations, an abundance of wild cocktails and a dance floor with a live band.
