Celebrate the season with a special Holidays through History Open House. Make your merry way among four historic houses featuring period installations and modern twists on Christmas, from the Federal period to the 1960s to now. Dumbarton House, Anderson House, Woodrow Wilson House, and Tudor Place all offer a festive evening out, with vintage décor, seasonal treats, and special live performances of holiday music at every site.
· At Dumbarton House, step back into the early days of the nation’s capital as the 1804 mansion comes alive with Federal-style Christmas decorations, live classical music, period crafts and light refreshments, including wassail, a traditional hot cider.
· At Anderson House, enjoy a Gilded Age holiday with decorations, carolers, and light refreshments inspired by early 20th century traditions.
· At Tudor Place, draw inspiration from the contemporary installation, Red, Green & Gold, the New and the Old: Tudor Place Sparkles for Christmas for your own home and for holiday cards you create in a drop-in workshop with Artist-in-Residence Peter Waddell.
· At the President Woodrow Wilson House live music, a holiday craft, and decorations in the style of the 1920s take you back to the way President Wilson would have celebrated the holidays.
Walk among the four sites or ride shuttle buses (free with your ticket). Tickets may be purchased here.
