House of Thrills

| December 30, 2013 | Parties

Hollywood and Capitol Hill insiders gathered at the Newseum for a night of elbow-rubbing in the name of Amazon’s first original series, Alpha House. Helmed by Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau, the show takes a satirical look at the antics of four Republican senators living in a group house on Capitol Hill.

The screening of Trudeau’s high-profile new show attracted plenty of curious members of congress, including Sen. Dick Durbin, who actually lives in the real-life Capitol Hill row house that inspired the show. Members of the comedic cast also walked the red carpet, including Mark Consuelos, Matt Malloy and Yara Martinez.

Pre-screening, guests discussed politics and dined on delicacies—courtesy of Wolfgang Puck Catering—and were treated to a Q&A with Trudeau and Alpha House Executive Producer Jonathan Alter after the credits rolled. –Photography by Scott Henrichsen
