Locks of Love

| June 22, 2015 | Parties National

Lolly’s Locks supporters gathered at the National Museum of Women in the Arts to celebrate and support cancer survivors.

Charity chic! Lolly’s Locks, a national nonprofit that provides high-quality wigs for patients who have lost their hair to chemo treatments, hosted its third annual Evening of Food, Fashion and Inspiration. The event featured a fabulous fashion show and abundant appetizers from local DC chefs like Victor Albisu, Jeff Black and Andrew Markert, as well as decadent desserts and drinks from Artisan Confections, Ice Cream Jubilee and Senzu Juicery.

The mistress of ceremonies, newswoman Cokie Roberts, welcomed guests to the runway-ready event and introduced remarks by Lolly’s Locks Executive Director Jaime Wright, before models strutted down the catwalk wearing Bloomingdale’s fashions and wigs from Lolly’s Locks partner Shevy Wigs.

Michelle Schoenfeld, author, small-business owner and a breast cancer survivor and former wig-wearer, was the evening’s honored guest. The blond beauty gave a heartfelt speech about the important mission of Lolly’s Locks. The night’s fundraising total came in at an impressive $200,000 for the local chapter. -Photos by Rich Kessler
