THE PARTY Georgetown celebrated the newest M Street addition with a posh grand opening party for Kit and Ace, the Canadian luxury retailer specializing in technically crafted cashmere. Guests swooned over the store’s modern loft space while snacking on hors d’oeuvres—including fig and prosciutto pizettes and ginger-chicken bundles—from Heirloom DC. CHACHO USA provided sips of its locally crafted spirit, distilled from South American cane sugar and peppered with spicy jalapeno. THE PEOPLE More than 200 fashionable guests gathered in Georgetown to ogle the latest Kit and Ace styles. Fashion guru and co-founder of Bitches Who Brunch, Cori Sue Morris; designer Kelsey Bethune, and political insider Dan Ziegler were a few of the evening’s notable names. BEST IN SHOW Celebrate the city! Kit and Ace incorporates local art into all of its retail locations, and its Georgetown grand opening highlighted some great District talent. Local music producer, Basscamp, provided his signature eclectic beats, echoing Kit and Ace’s cutting-edge aesthetic. The walls were graced with artist Natalie Cheung’s vibrant designs, while a sleek table and benches from Joseph Wills, along with bold lighting from Hinson Design Group, made for a catwalk-chic scene. –Lauren Staehle; photography by Emma McAlary
