THE PARTY It was a week of gorgeous glasses when Morgenthal Frederics officially feted its new DC store at CityCenterDC with an intimate cocktail party on a Wednesday evening, followed by a three-day trunk show featuring the brand’s famous specs. Guests gathered at the evening soiree to get the first glimpse of the new store and try on eyewear with the help of the store’s experienced eyewear specialists. THE PEOPLE Guests and Morgenthal Frederics execs alike—like Glenn Reisch, president of Luxury Optical Holdings, and Virginia Chieco, marketing director for the brand—mixed and mingled at the party while sampling light bites and sipping wine and specialty cocktails. BEST IN SHOW Throughout the three-day exclusive trunk show, invited guests had the opportunity to get fitted for new glasses personally by Morgenthal Frederics’ head designer, Jeff Press. A portion of the trunk show’s proceeds was donated to the brand’s nonprofit partner, Active Minds, which works to raise awareness around mental health issues. –Photos by Daniel Swartz
