THE PARTY Guests packed the rooftop ballroom after touring the work of Mick Rock, the British photographer who was dubbed “The Man Who Shot the ’70s.” Having nabbed some of the best images of David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Blondie and many others nearly five decades ago, the sextagenarian was on hand to show photos he’s taken of today’s cutting-edge artists as well. DC’s cognoscenti sipped on signature Rocked Absolut cocktails and nibbled hors d’oeuvres from J&G Steakhouse, as Fitz & the Tantrums took to the stage. Thievery Corporation’s Rob Garza and Eric Hilton also entertained, as the guest of honor mingled and posed next to his famed photography. THE PEOPLE The W Hotels Global Music Director Michaelangelo L’Acqua played host on behalf of the brand. Ed Baten and ABC7’s Steve Chenevey came out for the one-of-a-kind exhibit, along with Brightest Young Things’ Svetlana Legetic and Alton Lane’s Peyton Jenkins. BEST IN SHOW Mick Rock reunited with an old friend, Chris Murray from Govinda Gallery, who hosted Rock’s first fine art exhibition in 1998. Photography by Paul Morigi
