DC’s Nightlife Issue
The two-story shoe store transformed into a party hot spot.
The Party
DC magazine unveiled its annual Nightlife Issue by throwing a hot summer celebration at Frye’s flagship store in Georgetown, where guests grooved to thumping tunes, sipped on creative cocktails and browsed for party-ready shoes.
The People
DJ Heather Femia spun a soundtrack for the glam guests, who were abuzz about their own after-hours plans for the summer. DC’s “20 Unique Ways to Spend Your Summer Nights” list was strategically placed around the showroom to give guests ideas on how to fill their calendar (a helicopter ride to the Bey and Jay concert anyone?), while attendees sought relief from the heat with an adults-only custom milkshake bar on the balcony.

No nightlife celebration is complete without some party prep. DC’s Senior Editor Katie Bianco helped one lucky guest, Allie Krafft of the Ballston BID, select a pair of complimentary Frye boots—a shoe-in for those sexy summer nights! –Photos by Pavlos Karalis
