Show Your O Style!

| June 6, 2016 | Parties

THE PARTY O the places you’ll go! Pops of pattern, curves of creativity and the intermittent dog, shaped the apartments entered in the Show Your O interior design style contest. City Market at O and Modern Luxury Magazine co-hosted the contest with a first-rate panel of stylish judges that selected the six fortunate prizewinners. Contestants and guests then embarked on a short tour of Italy at a celebratOry rooftop party, featuring a striking sight of Shaw with a saccharine side of red and white vino. Lupo Verde catering cut the charcuterie and mounted the mozzarella as guests chilled by the pool and warmed by the alfresco fireplaces.

THE PEOPLE Judges included, Richard Lake, founding partner of Roadside Development and originator of these award-winning apartments; Jaye Langmaid, the owner & design ‘overlord’ at Hudson & Crane design; Pamela Sorensen, curator of Pamela’s Punch blog, that gives a taste of the best places to go and people to know in DC; and last (but especially not least), our very own editor-in-chief, Michael McCarthy dropped votes and jokes as a judge and emcee. Finally, Natalie Pinto, author of The Fashionably Broke style blog, bested the chic crowd with a pair of boyfriend jeans and joined the O bash.

BEST IN SHOW Brooklyn’s in the house! The best overall grand-prizewinners, Eunmin Lee and Daniel Moon, brought their Brooklyn flavor and book-folding boldness to their bungalow. This ‘shoes-off’ governed apartment, had self-made decor and fascinating light fixtures that stole the show – while their bouncing baby girl stole some hearts. The winners happily and humbly accepted their $750 gift certificate to Hudson & Crane. Other winners for ingenuity in interior design, received gift certificates to the Fig and Olive, the Tailored Man, the Mason & Rook hotel, the Goodstone Inn, Pinstripes Bistro Bowling and Bocce and Logan 14.
