The Party The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts hosted its largest annual fundraising event, the Wolf Trap Ball, on the Filene Center stage, where the organization raised a jaw-dropping $1.3 million for the center’s plethora of outreach programs. The evening’s theme was Santa Fe, N.M., in honor of Terre Jones, who has served as president and CEO for 17 years, and will be retiring there next month.The People
The ball heralded more than 800 guests, which included event co-chairs Alan Kelly and Boofie O’Gorman. Noel Paul Stookey, a member of the iconic folk group Peter Paul & Mary, was also in attendance, along with renowned gymnast and Peter Pan actress Cathy Rigby.Best In Show Reps. Frank Wolf, Jim Moran and Gerry Connolly recognized Jones with a Congressional Recognition award, while Stookey surprised both guests and organizers with an impromptu a cappella performance of his original piece “One and Many.” Later, guests hit the dance floor for some oldies-but-goodies pumped out by local band Marquise.
