The Art of Chic

| May 7, 2013 | Parties

The Party
The Corcoran’s monthlong mixology bash went out with a bang at this art-full gala. Guests sipped cocktails served up by eight of the area’s coolest cocktail impresarios. All eight were previously available at ARTINI feature nights hosted by the 1869 Society, the Corcoran’s group for rising young art stars and patrons.

The People
A pleasing posse of judges, including Svetlana Legetic of Brightest Young Things; writer Kelly Magyarics; Gina Chersevani of Hank’s Oyster Bar, Eddy and Buffalo & Bergen; and chef Todd Gray and Ellen Kassof Gray made the “Critics’ Choice” while 670 guests grooved to beats dropped by local artist Chukwumaa, also known as DJ Alive and Able.

Best in Show
Each mixologist chose a masterpiece on which to base his or her “artini” and was judged accordingly. Frank Jones of the Gibson won the Critic’s Choice with his rendition of Regnault’s “Head of Moor,” while Joe Ambrose of P.O.V’s take on a classic Renoir took the People’s Choice award.
