The Avant Guard

| June 20, 2016 | Parties

THE PARTY Keep Calm and Hire Yourself! Washington’s biggest innovators and entrepreneurs, showcased in DC magazine’s June edition, gathered at Pennsylvania 6 to celebrate the gift of origination. These visionary avant-gardists turn concepts in their heads and create the next big things. We said cheers to that!

THE PEOPLE Music, art, retail and real estate collided as we celebrated our fabulous featured innovators: John Coco, Camille Devlin and John Devlin, founding board members of Gourmet Symphony, took a break from entertaining to be entertained! Dadi Akhavan, who transforms home video screens to magnificent works of art with his artistic streaming service NumberF, joined in on the celebration. And Martin Ditto, the principal behind Ditto Residential, and Bethany Scanlon, the matchmaker of the Neighborhood Retail Group, also came to party! Sisters and innovators, Elise Whang and Emily Dang, could not join the festivities, but representatives of Snobswap added further style to our soiree.

BEST IN SHOW Food coma! Appetizers were in the air, as Pennsylvania 6 crafted and served crab croquettes, Yellowfin Tuna crudo, shrimp cocktail shooters, and lobster roll sliders for our seafood-loving guests. Ricotta & fig jam crostinis, mushroom & goat cheese pinwheels, and dry aged beef carpaccio were also passed. Party goers sipped on specialty cocktails through out the evening while DJ Heather Femia kept the music flowing. Lyft provided codes for rides to and from the event to keep safety a top priority! Cheers to the next big thing!
