THE PARTY
Burch’s fashion-conscious friends and fans turned out at the designer’s shimmering new Georgetown boutique to celebrate her latest retail location. Amid her fabulous flats and iconic accessories (the latter are heavily emphasized in the boutique), some of the city’s most powerful women toasted all things Tory.

THE PEOPLE
Tory Burch’s VIP guests included the vice president’s wife, Jill Biden; media moguls Robert and Elena Allbritton; CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer and his wife, Lynn; CNN reporter Dana Bash; and political pundit Gloria Borger.

BEST IN SHOW
While the brightly colored boutique was the backdrop for the party, the focus was on raising funds for the Tory Burch Foundation, which supports the economic empowerment of female entrepreneurs and their families in the United States. Attendees shopped for a cause, with 20 percent of all proceeds that evening going to the foundation. The charity is near and dear to Burch, and it was clear from the turnout—and the receipts!—that her DC acquaintances and fans felt exactly the same. –Photography by Tony Powell
