THE PARTY The state that turned blue in the last presidential election—for the first time since 1976—played host to the incumbent party’s 2012 convention. THE PEOPLE DC types sipped and supped among starlets, like model Taylor Bagley and actress Alexis Bledel, who attended the Artists Making an IMPACT Dinner celebrating Funny or Die. A Facebook Apps and Drinks event saw its fair share of politicos and corporate power players, including Facebook’s VP of Corporate Communications Joe Lockhart and Sen. Chuck Schumer. Got Your Six & Lifetime Television set up shop in Charlotte, too, hosting Eva Longoria as a special guest. BEST IN SHOW Super-O-Rama, a collaboration between three of Obama’s top Super PACs, threw a party following the president’s acceptance of the party’s nomination with rapper Pitbull and the Scissor Sisters to bring the convention to a close.
