Jessica Griscavage, director of marketing and senior travel advisor for McLean’s McCabe World Travel, which is a member of the luxe-travel network Virtuoso, says DC travelers don’t allow current events keep them from experiencing the world. Here are some of her favorite spots for the months ahead.
What’s the hot destination right now for DC travelers?
Columbia—two new Four Seasons hotels have opened in Bogota in the past year, giving more options for the luxury traveler.
Is there a new resort that should be on everyone’s radar?
The Brando. This is Marlon Brando’s dream private island in French Polynesia that showcases his vision to keep the culture alive in a sustainable environment. It’s only accessible via 20-minute private plane flight from Tahiti. The resort boasts 35 secluded villas with private pools surrounded by powder-white sand and clear-blue water.
What are some of your favorite new hotels worldwide?
What’s old is new again—this year, the Ritz-Carlton Paris was reborn with multimillion-dollar renovation.
We’re also excited about the Park Hyatt St. Kitts, which opens this winter—the first Park Hyatt in the Caribbean.
On the seas, the new Regent Seven Seas Explorer is the most luxurious hotel afloat. The Regent Suite features more than 4,000 square feet, two spacious bedrooms, two private balconies and your very own Canyon Ranch spa. This sumptuous suite was designed by Dakota Jackson and is complete with a Steinway Arabesque piano and two Picasso paintings.
