A Whole New Park

| October 28, 2011 | Parties

THE PLACE Revelers numbering in the hundreds rallied in celebration of Park Hyatt’s fifth anniversary of its redesign and new General Manager Andrew Davidson. The triple-charged event also showcased the newly dubbed Gallery, a sleek revamp of the hotel’s ballroom. THE PEOPLE Jeff Boden, president and GM of Cumulus Radio DC, Barbados Ambassador John Beale and a myriad of Washington’s major players feasted on creamy risotto with sweet dumpling squash and succulent Creekstone Farms short-ribs from executive chef and Blue Duck Tavern phenom, Brian McBride. THE PARTY Davidson joins the DC team after 24 years of success at Hyatt outposts in Texas, Florida and New Jersey, among others. Washingtonians offered him warm support at the stylish coming-out party and anniversary of the West End relaunch, which boasted chic eats prepared in front of guests, and local dance band Amaretto. Davidson’s only rival for the guests’ attention? The stunning d├ęcor. Designed by Miami’s Gonzalez Architects and Jane Dillon Design Group, soothing tones and wood and leather accents reinterpret the redefined space into a cozy, modern take on “American artisanship."
