Wild Hearts

| April 7, 2014 | Parties

The Party
Fashion met philanthropy at the American Heart Association’s 66th Annual An Affair of the Heart luncheon, which had the city’s trendiest television reporters strutting their stuff on the runway at Marriott Wardman Park. Familiar faces like Andrea Roane of WUSA 9, Doug Kammerer of NBC 4 and Laura Evans of Fox 5 mingled with models as they showed off the latest spring looks from Bloomingdale’s, while raising funds to benefit heart disease research and education.

The People
Guests—decked out in their best red outfits—included Nancy Brown, CEO of the American Heart Association, and ABC 7’s Alison Starling, who served as the event’s emcee. Heather Jameson of George Washington University, as well as Shelley Lei and Adriana Blazeski of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine—the 2013 Women’s Board research grant recipients—also received the well-deserved spotlight.

Best in Show
The theme of the fashion show, Spring 2014 Power Players, included nearly 75 looks presented in four themed segments. The final theme, The Power of the Press, closed out the show with local news personalities showing off their best model behavior. –Photos by John Robinson
