The city’s very own style counsel—otherwise known as Fashion Group International of Greater Washington DC—hosted an evening of accolades for the District’s up-and-coming fashion designers, makeup artists, beauty bloggers and more at the first ever Rising Star Awards ceremony. Nominees and attendees alike turned Casa Luca into a catwalk as they talked shop while simultaneously showing off the city’s stylish side in of-the-moment outfits.
The swanky soiree featured a who’s who of DC’s creative community with fashionistas like jewelry designer Sophie Blake, clothing designer Tashia Senn, stylist Ariella Faith and skincare entrepreneur (and Michelle Obama’s esthetician) JoElle Lee accepting awards.
