Style is a state of mind and fashion a means of expression, which is all the more important in our rapidly changing world. We check in with Dr. Lily Talakoub for some words of wisdom.

My big news is...

my skin e-commerce business, dermtodoor.com, is launching an amazing app with facial recognition and teledermatology, so anyone anywhere can see a dermatologist and get skincare prescriptions from home.

This year has taught me...

to take care of my health. I started a plant-based diet and started playing tennis again, which I played competitively in college and gave up while in medical school.

My hope for the future is...

serenity and health for my family, living without fear of hugs and seeing friends.

My outlook has shifted by...

really liking the quiet [resulting from the pandemic]. I’m an extreme extrovert. I’m with patients and clients all day and still love being with friends and entertaining at night. The quiet has allowed me to shift my focus and time.

In 2020, style is all about...

confidence. I’ve learned to dress for my body and my shape. It’s not perfect, and growing up I always had envy for women who were taller or had certain traits I wished for. But now I’m happy with who I am—some things I’ll never ever be able to wear, and that’s OK.

To me, style means...

elegance.

Designers I love to support are...

Alex Perry, Victoria Beckham
