Oui, oui! Friends, supporters and colleagues of Women & Wine, the most influential event for female leaders in the fight against breast cancer, gathered at the French Embassy to toast to the previous year’s success and look forward towards the upcoming Women & Wine in 2017. The event, which benefits Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Caner Center’s Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research, is a much anticipated celebration in the community. The center was established in 1989 by designer Ralph Lauren and the late Washington Post Company President, Katherine Graham, as a tribute to their friend Nina Hyde, who served as the Washington Post Fashion editor. Notable guests in attendance included Dr. Louis Weiner, Director of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center; Dr. Robert Clarke, Professor of Oncology and Co-Director of the Lombardi Breast Cancer Program; Sherrie Beckstead of Liljenquist & Beckstead Jewelers; and event co-chairs Barbara Schaefer McDuffie and Janet S. Davis.
